news-guhore.com is a generic scam website. When you get redirected to it, you will immediately get a browser alert saying “news-guhore.com wants to show notifications”. The site is misusing a legitimate browser feature to essentially spam ads. Clicking “Allow” is not recommended because you’ll start seeing ads on your desktop.

news-guhore.com has no content on it but makes it seem like it does. The site displays a message saying you need to click “Allow” to get past the browser check and gain access to the site. Your browser will show an alert saying “news-guhore.com wants to show notifications”. If you click “Allow”, the site will start spamming ads on your desktop so there is no reason to give it permission. While most of those ads will only be annoying, there are some that could expose you to scams and/or malicious content. Thus, if you have given the site permission, do not click on the notifications until you revoke the permission. The sooner you revoke the permission, the better.

Because the feature is legitimate, you can give sites permission as long as they are safe. Once you get tired of seeing the notifications, you can easily revoke the permission in your browser’s settings. Instructions can be found at the very end of this report if you need help.

What is causing you to get redirected to sites like news-guhore.com?

Random redirects to news-guhore.com and similar websites are most likely triggered by the sites users visit. Dubious sites, particularly those that have pornography and pirated content, try to expose users to as much advertisement content as possible to make revenue. Clicking on anything when on those sites will trigger a redirect. However, both regular ads and redirects can be blocked with any decent adblocker program.

If you’ve been redirected more than a couple of times, your computer may be infected with adware. If adware is indeed present, you should also notice an increase in regular ads. Fortunately, it’s not a serious infection. It’s usually installed via the software bundling method. The method allows such infections to be installed without requiring explicit permission from users. This makes it a rather frowned upon installation method. Programs that use it are often classified as potentially unwanted by various anti-virus vendors.

Software bundling allows adware and similar infections to be added to free programs as extra offers. The offers are technically optional but they are hidden and permitted to be installed alongside without requiring explicit permission. You can deselect the extra offers but users often do not notice them because they’re hidden in settings users don’t often use.

When installing programs, you can choose which settings to use. The installation window will recommend using Default but if you do that and the program has added offers, all offers will be permitted to install automatically. Advanced (Custom) settings, on the other hand, make all added offers visible. Those settings will also give you the option to deselect the offers you do not want.

We already mentioned that software bundling is a controversial installation method so programs that use it should not be permitted to install on your computer. If you allow these installations, you will fill your computer with junk programs in no time.

How to stop news-guhore.com redirects

The most likely reason for the redirects is the websites you visit, which is why you need to have a good adblocker installed. However, it’s also a good idea to scan your computer with an anti-virus program just in case adware is the reason. Adware can be tricky to remove manually so using an anti-virus program is a good idea.
