Remove PC OptiClean

About this program

PC OptiClean is a questionable system optimization tool, classified as a potentially unwanted program (PUP). It’s one of those computer programs that will offer to clean your computer of various problems, but not for free.

The reason it’s classified as a potentially unwanted program is because it can enter a computer via freeware bundles, which means users might not even realize that it installed in the beginning. If you got it via freeware bundles, you need to start paying closer attention to how you install programs, and if you installed it yourself, look into programs more carefully before you install them. This PUP will scan your computer, inform you about all kinds of supposedly serious issues, and then offer to fix them for you. However, you would first need to get the full version, which is not for free. We strongly suggest you delete PC OptiClean.

How did it install?

It’s available on its official website, pcopticlean.com, but it’s more likely that you got it via freeware bundles. It could have been added to freeware as an extra offer, and if you did not notice it, it was allowed to install. To prevent these unwanted installations in the future, choose Advanced or Custom settings when installing freeware, and make sure you uncheck all the items that appear there. The items will only be visible in those settings, so opt out of using Default. In any case, whichever way you got it, we suggest you remove PC OptiClean.

Why uninstall PC OptiClean?

The PUP will offer to scan your computer immediately after you install it. The scan results may show you a lot of issues, some might be presented as very serious but in reality, they might be very minor and not affect your computer at all. There could also be a big number of them, and this is a common scare tactic used to pressure users into purchasing the full version, which is needed to ‘fix’ your computer. If you do not buy it, it might pester you with constant pop-ups about the full version, in which case it will not only be useless but also annoying. And the Premium version is $29.97, while Premium Pro is currently $13.97 with a discount (the usual price is $74.73). If you choose to buy it, even though we recommend you delete PC OptiClean, there are a few thing you should be aware of. The company behind this software could enter you in some kind of game or contest without your approval, providing questionable parties with your private information, but they claim to have no control over how those third-parties use the information. For more info, read the Terms of Use on their website, you’ll find some interesting things there.
