About Gstatic

Gstatic.com is a legitimate domain, owned and used by Google to load content. For a short period of time, security software company Malwarebytes blocked the site and identified it as dangerous. After numerous complains about constant pop-up alerts appearing on all browsers, Malwarebytes explained that the detection was a false positive and removed the block, whitelisting the website. However, multiple websites falsely report Gstatic as a serious threat. It’s not a browser hijacker, not a malicious Trojan and not a virus. It’s just Google-owned domain used to load content from their Content Delivery Network (CDN), which puts website content on servers that are spread to the world.

Gstatic

There is nothing malicious about Gstatic, but it should be mentioned that malware creators like to conceal their malware as legitimate processes/files so that users are not suspicious, and it’s much more difficult to detect the threat without proper security software. This is why having anti-malware software installed is so important. It would detect malware present on your computer, or prevent it from getting into the system in the first place. It would also block malicious sites that are appearing to be legitimate but are actually spreading malware. You could be redirected to those sites when visiting questionable reputation sites (like torrent, adult entertainment, gambling, etc.), or by some kind of unwanted program, like adware.

Despite what many sites are claiming, Gstatic is not malicious, and it’s not spreading malware. So you don’t need to delete Gstatic. Unless, it’s disguised as some kind of malware, which is not outside the real of possibility. And you would not know unless you have anti-malware. The security software will not detect the real site as dangerous but if some kind of malware is disguised as it, it should have no problems with identifying it.
