Do not use the download services offered by yt1s.com rogue website
yt1s.com is a converter website that allows users to convert and download YouTube videos. The site essentially allows users to download copyrighted content for free, which is technically illegal. Besides the fact that it allows content theft, the site itself isn’t particularly safe. When using it, you could be exposed to highly questionable content, as well as accidentally download something malicious.
When browsing sites like yt1s.com, it’s not uncommon to get redirected to questionable websites and be bombarded with strange ads. Clicking on anything on the site could trigger a random redirect, which makes such sites quite difficult to use. The site may also show a browser alert asking you to allow yt1s.com to show notifications on the desktop. Scam sites often misuse this legitimate browser feature to expose users to highly questionable ads. If the site shows an alert saying “yt1s.com wants to show notifications”, do not give permission. It’s not difficult to revoke this permission even if you do give it, but all the site would do is spam your desktop with ads, some of which could be dangerous. If you have accidentally given the site permission, use the directions at the end of this report to revoke it.
yt1s.com is one of those websites that may show fake virus alerts, or it may redirect to sites that display such alerts. These alerts claim that there is a virus on the computer and that it’s causing significant harm. The point of these alerts is to trick users into downloading fake anti-virus programs that may actually be disguised malware. Don’t pay any mind to the virus alerts that appear in your browser because they’re all fake since a browser cannot detect malware on the computer. A reliable adblocker program should be able to block these kinds of alerts.
yt1s.com may also display ads that promote certain, potentially dangerous programs. However, neither yt1s.com itself nor its displayed ads are safe, so you should not consider yt1s.com to be a reliable download source. If you come across an advertised program you want to use, first research it extensively and if everything checks out, download it from its official website.
yt1s.com removal
Considering that yt1s.com isn’t a safe site, we don’t recommend downloading anything from it. If you have, especially if it wasn’t a .mp3 or a .mp4 file, scan your computer with anti-virus software because malware may be present on your computer. yt1s.com is far from being a safe download source.
If yt1s.com requests permission to show notifications, and if you give this permission, you need to revoke that permission right away. It’s not difficult to do as long as you know your way around your browser’s settings. If you don’t know what to do, use the directions provided right below. In addition to yt1s.com, you should also remove all other sites you do not recognize from the list.
