About this infection
zeus virus alerts are appearing on your screen because you have an adware program installed on your computer. Adware is not a malicious computer virus but it’s still annoying, nevertheless. The adverts you are seeing on your screen are stating that the infamous zeus trojan has been detected on your computer and that you must call the provided number. You probably already know this but this is a scam.
Safe to say, browsers cannot detect malware installed on your computer. Only anti-malware software can. So it’s quite clear that this is a scam. However, less security-cautions users might not know this and fall for this scam, which is what these crooks are hoping for. Do not engage with the pop-up and do not call the provided number. The only thing wrong with your computer is the adware. Just delete zeus virus adware and the pop-ups should go away.
How did you get infected?
You picked up the adware when you were installing free software. It was attached as an extra offer and you did not pay enough attention to notice it. This is not unusual. You need to stop using Default settings because they will not show you any added items and they will all end up being installed on your computer. If you want to stop these annoying installations, choose Advanced or Custom settings when installing freeware. They will allow you to see what has been added and will also give you the option of deselecting everything. Make sure you uncheck all the boxes because otherwise you will end up having to remove zeus virus or similar again.
What does it do?
Immediately after installation, the adware will start generating advertisements and start bothering you about supposed infections. This will happen on most browsers, including Internet Explorer, Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox, so you will have to uninstall zeus virus adware to solve the issue. Switching browsers will not help. You will get randomly redirected to a website where a pop-up will appear and inform you that your computer has been infected with zeus malware. The trojan is known to steal banking information. Fortunately, you computer is fine, despite what the warning is saying. It’s asking you to call a number that will connect you to some technician. It’s all a scam. Your browser cannot detect any kinds of threats and Microsoft will certainly never ask you to call them. The pop-up will state that you should not ignore this alert but that is exactly what you need to do. Ignore it and make sure you delete zeus virus.
zeus virus removal
We would recommend you employ anti-spyware software to remove zeus virus because the program would ensure that it’s gone completely. You can also go with manual zeus virus removal but bear in mind that you will have to find the adware yourself. Seeing as it’s hiding, it could be difficult. Whichever method you choose, ensure you uninstall zeus virus fully.
